Building Literacy & Numeracy Skills

The Literacy & Numeracy Program is a volunteer-supported initiative by The I Can Scholarship Foundation Inc., designed to improve reading literacy and numeracy skills among elementary and middle school students in Richmond County, North Carolina.

This  program goal is to provide personalized, research-based instruction to students who are reading below grade level or struggling with math concepts. Our goal is to help every student develop the confidence, skills, and love for learning that will support their long-term academic success.

• Individualized support to strengthen phonics, comprehension, and fluency
• Guided reading sessions and interactive literacy activities
• Exposure to diverse literature to foster a love of reading

•  Hands-on math workshops focusing on foundational skills
• Fun, engaging exercises to improve problem-solving and arithmetic
• Real-world applications of math concepts to build understanding
